Phoenix realizes that every client
has individual requirements in a portfolio/fund accounting solution
so we offer optional modules that allow a client to custom configure
their MPACS™ solution to meet their exact needs. The following
are optional modules for the system.
Asset Allocation: For those clients who have portfolios of funds,
this allows a profile to be established for each portfolio.
A profile consists of percentages of the underlying funds in
the portfolio. Capital transactions can then be imported (import
capital transactions module) and allocated to the underlying
funds in the portfolio according to the profile. User-defined
allocation rules can apply to purchases and redemptions and
a query is available showing target balances compared to actual
balances. Automated Trading: accepts transactions (purchases
and sales, long or short) for any portfolio from an external
source such as a trading system via an ASCII text file.
Automated Trading: accepts transactions
(purchases and sales, long or short) for any portfolio from
an external source such as a trading system via an ASCII text
file.
Auto Pricing Module: accepts a file of security prices to update
the MPACS™ security master which prices all the securities
across portfolios. The following services are available.
| · Bear Stearns |
· Mellon Bank |
| · Bloomberg |
· Merrill Lynch |
| · Bridge |
· Mueller |
| · FT Interactive Data |
· PC Quote |

Batch Valuation: For those clients
who have a high number of portfolios or funds residing on the
MPACS™ system, this module allows a group of funds/portfolios
to be established -- the batch. Then the valuation process can
be run for the batch instead of for each individual fund/portfolio,
which saves time.
Corporate Action Module: MPACS™
will automatically download information from a Pricing Service
that pertains to securities contained within the MPACS™
user’s portfolios. This includes:
· stock dividend/split
· return of capital
· cash dividend
· issue
· stock rights
· call
· stock warrants
· spinoff
Importing Capital Transactions: A module
to import capital transactions for each portfolio from any source
through a standard text file. The file layout is provided with
the module.
Master/Feeder: A module that allows
MPACS™ to track both an underlying portfolio of securities --
the Master -- and its owners/unit-holders -- the Feeders.
Multi-Class Share Accounting: Allows
a fund to market its shares under different expense structures
to accommodate varying methods of distribution: no-load, front-end
load, back-end-level-load, CDSC, and varying 12(b)1 rates.
Multi-Currency Processing: MPACS™
Global Processing Module gives our clients the unique functions
required to process international securities, including: · Set
a common denominator or "base currency" in order to arrive at
a NAV expressed in that currency for each fund. · Provide for
processing an unlimited number of foreign currencies and foreign
securities. · Multiple methods for handling cash, including
maintaining multiple bank accounts by country to process sweeps.
· Distinguish between realized gain/loss due to market change
and gain/loss dues to currency fluctuation. · Provides a comprehensive
package of multi-currency reports, in both local and base currencies.
PDF Document Conversion: A Module that
converts standard MPACS™ reports into PDF documents which can
be printed, emailed or saved to disk.
Position Reconciliation: MPACS™
will import a file of positions from the fund's custodian and
compare them with the MPACS positions and report any exceptions.
Security Subsystems: Designed to permit
a System Administrator to tailor which functions an individual
operator is allowed to perform on the MPACS™ System. This
procedure provides security by offering protection from unauthorized
access as well as storing the operator's ID on any transactions
performed by that operator.
